2006 PSBA Hall of Fame Inductees

Kevin B. Adam enters
the Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Hall of Fame this evening for his Contributions to the game of bowling.
Kevin has bowled in
23 PSBA tournaments and 21 USBC (formerly ABC tournaments. He has
over three hundred of 700’s, thirty-seven 300’s, and eleven 800’s to
his credit in 31 years of organized bowling.
He holds more than
50 single titles and multiple team and doubles titles. In 1988 he
was a member of the team that rolled ABC’s third highest team game
with a score of 1331. In 1989 Kevin was a member of the Rich Craft
design team that captured another ABC award of second highest team
triple of 3717. He again rose to champion status in 2005 when he
rolled back-to-back 300’s at Bowl O Rama in Reading.
Kevin also bowls
well outside of Pennsylvania. In ABC tournaments in Salt Lake City
in 1996, he took second place and in Cincinnati he got fifth place.
In 1999 at Syracuse, he placed tenth in doubles and in 2001 earned
ninth place in Albuquerque. His team placed first in 1992 at Corpus
Christi and fifth in team all events. In 2002 he was the ABC
tournament lifetime average leader for the state of Pennsylvania and
in the top 50 in the world with a 204.534 average. He holds ten
Reading BA titles, three US Open Qualifiers, and one ABC title that
he rolled in 1992 in Corpus Christi.
For his outstanding
contributions to the game of bowling, it is a pleasure to induct
Kevin B. Adam into the Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Hall
of Fame.

David E. Barshinger enters the
Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Hall of Fame for his
meritorious service to the game of bowling.
Dave has been in Organized Bowling for 36 years.
Dave has bowled in 31 PSBA Tournaments and 14 ABC Tournaments. He
has a high game of 299, a high series of 767, and a high average of
203. He has one local association Senior team title and one PSBA
Senior team title to his credit.
Dave has served on almost every committee of the
PSBA. He became a Central Area Director in 1992 and served in that
capacity until elected 4th Vice President in 1998, proceeding
through the chairs to become President of the PSBA in the 2002-2003
season. Dave set up the first PSBA web pages on the Internet and
serves as the current PSBA Webmaster. He was the local onsite
Chairman of the 2005 PSBA senior tournament.
He was very active in his local association (The
York County BA) having been Vice President, Director, Advisory Board
Life Member and Delegate to the National Convention. Dave is a
Certified Lane Inspector, a Certified YABA Coach Instructor. Dave
was a member of the first ABC Public Relations Class held in
Greendale, Wisconsin. He served on the ABC Ballot Committee at the
2003 ABC Convention held in Knoxville, Tennessee. Dave served as a
League President, Secretary and Treasurer for over twenty years.
Dave also served on the York-Adams YABA Board of
Directors, the PA State YABA Board of Directors, and the PA State
Bowling Council, serving two years as Vice President.

Stephen P. Levering enters the
Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Hall of Fame this evening for
his Contributions to the game of bowling
Steve has bowled in 29 PSBA tournaments and 26 USBC
(formerly ABC) tournaments. He has had hundreds of 700’s, forty
300’s, and eighteen 800’s to his credit in 35 years of organized
bowling.
He earned titles in the Lancaster BA annual
tournament, nine Lancaster All Star titles, two Limpus titles, and
one Dutchman scratch team award. State titles include the following:
doubles scratch in 1989 & 1995, singles scratch in 1998, and all
events scratch in 1995.
Stephen earned 48th place in the 1982 US
open in Houston and finished in the money in the PBA Regional in the
1980’s. His best finishes in ABC tournaments include: 11th
in singles in Jacksonville, 17th in doubles in Baton
Rouge, 9th place in team in Syracuse, and 27th
in all events in Syracuse.
He rolled a 300 in the ABC tournament doubles event
with PSBA Hall of Fame member Gary Brooks who rolled a 298. This 598
game was third high nationwide for the 1997-1998 season.
His bowling honorariums include the Lancaster BA
Hall of Fame in 1994 and Life Membership in Lancaster in 1996.
For his outstanding contributions to the game of
bowling, it is a pleasure to induct Stephen P. Levering into the
Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Hall of Fame. |
