2005 PSBA Hall of Fame Inductees

Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Gary K. Brooks enters the Pennsylvania State Bowling
Association Hall of Fame for his contributions to
the game of bowling.
Gary bowled in 34 PSBA Tournaments, 25 ABC Tournaments, and innumerable local and regional tournaments. He has many 700s,
10-300s and 8-800s to his credit in 39 years of organized bowling.
Titles within the local association
include 2 team, 2 doubles, 1 singles and 1 all-events. His PSBA
titles include: 1971 Scratch Singles, and a member of the 1973, 2003
and 2004 Scratch Team Champions. He finish 3rd in All-Events at the
1975 ABC. Also in 1975, in the Tournament of America, Gary finished
1st in team, all-events, singles and doubles. Also 1st in the Mixed
Team, All-Events and 3rd in Mixed Doubles. In the 1976 Tournament of America, he
finished 1st in All-Events, 2nd in Team, 2nd in Mixed Doubles, 3rd
in Singles, 4th in Doubles and 5th in Mixed Team.
Gary was inducted into the Lancaster Hall of Fame in 1978. Other
bowling honorariums include the Friendship and Goodwill Award in
1975. For his outstanding contributions to
the game of bowling, it is a pleasure to induct Gary K. Brooks
into the Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Hall of Fame. |

Clearfield, Pennsylvania
Richard J. Nardozza
enters the Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Hall of Fame for
his contributions to the game of bowling.
Richard has
bowled in 17 PSBA Tournaments and 16 ABC Tournaments. He has 800+
700s, 16 300s and 6 800s to his credit in 50 years of organized
bowling.
Titles within
the local association include: 1st in Singles and Team as a Junior
bowler. In 1963-1970 he bowled in the Altoona B.A. where he was a
Singles, Doubles, Team and All-Events champion. And from 1983-2003
Dick bowled in the Allegheney Mountains B.A. and won everything
again.
State titles
include Singles and All-Events at the 1980 State Moose Tournament.
Scratch Doubles Champion in the 1984 PSBA Tournament and 1st place
in the 1998 PSBA Seniors Tournament.
In the PBA, Dick
has two 1st place finishes; one in Syracuse and one in Rockaway. He
came in 9th in the PBA National Tournament and also came in 9th at
the ABC Seniors Tournament in Reno. Dick bowled 300 games in the
Greater Pittsburgh Open and the PBA Showboat Seniors Open.
Dick has been a
League President, Treasurer, Secretary, and has served on the Board
of Directors. He has promoted the Big Brothers & Sisters and St.
Jude's Children Hospital.
For his outstanding contributions to the game of
bowling, it is a pleasure to induct Richard J. Nardozza into the
Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Hall of Fame. |
Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania
William D.
Weaver enters the Pennsylvania State Bowling Hall of Fame for
meritorious service to the game of bowling.
Bill has been in Organized Bowling
for 46 years. Bill has bowled in 41 PSBA Tournaments, 19 PSBA Senior
Tournaments, 13 PSBA Mixed Tournaments and 10 ABC Tournaments.
Bill has served
on almost every committee of the PSBA. He became a Western Area
Director in 1989 and served as President of the PSBA in 1998-1999.
Bill introduced the business cards for the PSBA Board.
He has been very
active in his local association (The Greater Pittsburgh Tenpin)
having been President, Vice President, Director, Advisory Board
Member and Delegate to the National Convention. He has served as a
League President, Secretary and Treasurer. Bill bowled in 45 City
tournaments and 43 Mixed City tournaments. He currently serves as
the Awards Chairman for his association. Bill was elected into the
Greater Pittsburgh Tenpin Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1992.
Bill coached
junior bowlers for 23 years and became a certified AJBC
Coach/Instructor in 1970. He was on the Board of Directors for the
AJBC/YABA from 1982-1990 and was their first Vice President from
1985-1987 at which time he became Secretary-Treasurer until 1990. He
also attended 5 YABA Conventions.
It is with great
pleasure to induct William D. Weaver into the Pennsylvania State
Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
