GEORGE "BUCKY" JONES  (Deceased)

George Jones enters the Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Hall of Fame for meritorious service to the game of bowling.

Bucky was elected 4th Vice President in 1976 he progressed through the chairs and became PSBA President in 1980-1981.

Bucky has served on every committee of the PSBA. He has been very active in his local association (New Castle) having been association secretary for ten years and has served as president and secretary of the junior bowling association and been a league secretary for fifteen years. Was very instrumental in bringing the Eagles Men's International Tournament and the International Mixed Tournament and the Eagles Men and Ladies Pennsylvania State Tournament to New Castle of which he served as tournament directors.

He was involved in helping many charities such as Bowl -For-A-Brace, Crippled Children, Easter Seals and Jerry Lewis's Kids for Muscular Dystrophy. And Bucky said "if I had to do it all over again it would be my pleasure."

He is a life member of the New Castle B.A., a member of the New Castle B.A. Hall of Fame. Has bowled in 35 PSBA State Tournaments and 2 ABC National Tournaments.

It is a great pleasure to induct George "Bucky" Jones into the Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Hall of Fame.

Meadville, Pennsylvania

William E. Lynn enters the Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Hall of Fame this evening for his contributions to the game of bowling. 

Bill has bowled 25 PSBA Tournaments, 36 ABC Tournaments. He has over 100-700, 3-300 and 3-800 to his credit in 46 years of organized bowling. 

High game 300, high series 815, high year average 227 and high ten year average 216. Bill's lifetime average 201 in the WCCBA for  bowlers with over 4,000 games this puts Bill in third place in lifetime average. Bill was the first bowler to roll 800 series at Lost Lanes in Cambridge Springs, PA also a team member to set the WCCBA record of 3602 in the annual association tournament. 

Titles within the local association 17 team, 9 doubles, 2 singles and 3 all events, titles within the PSBA 1982 singles at Erie, 2002 team at Altoona and the 2001 team at Western Crawford. The premier scratch bowling league in the WCCBA has been the Merchant's Ten Pin Bowling League, which was formed in 1941 and is still running Bill has been on the winning team 12 times.

Bill was inducted into the WCCBA Hall of Fame on November 17, 1978: Have been a president and vice president of several leagues. Became a director in 1961 and advanced to the position of president of his local association in 1965. He remained president until 1969 in 1969 he became a director again and worked till 1976. Helped to form the 700 club and was elected to be its first president

Bill has been a delegate to the PSBA Convention. During his time on the board he helped to win the bid to hold the 1971 PSBA Championship Tournament in Meadville at Plaza Lanes and Center Bowl.

For his outstanding contributions to the game of bowling, it is a pleasure to induct William E. Lynn into the Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Hall of fame this evening.
