2000 PSBA Hall of Fame Inductees

The Pennsylvania State Bowling
Association Hall of Fame inducted Dominic Amato for his great
contributions to the game of bowling.
Although living in Ohio, Dom has spent
his bowling life and career in Mercer County, PA. He served as its
President for 18 years and many other capacities in their organization.
After serving as a delegate to the PSBA Convention, he was elected as a
Western Area Director, serving four years before being elected 4th Vice
President, moving up the chairs to become President in 1990-1991. As
President, he started the Director's Training sessions held every year
at the Fall Board meeting weekend. He has served as Local Association
Host Manager for three Championship tournaments and one Senior
Tournament. He was a charter member of the Mercer County Hall of Fame
and served as its chairman for many years. He has
attended 15 ABC Conventions as a delegate from Mercer County and 2 as a
delegate and alternate for the PSBA.

The Pennsylvania State Bowling
Association inducted Roy Ruffner into its Hall of Fame for his
outstanding contributions to our Association and the game of bowling.
Roy is very active on the state and
local level in our sport. He served the Reading B.A. as its President
for two years and as its Treasurer for over 20 years, retiring in 1999.
He first attended the PSBA Convention as an alternate delegate in 1970
and served as a delegate from the Reading B.A. from 1971 through 1980
when he was elected Eastern Area Director. He served three terms in
this position, two years as Eastern Chairman. Being active on various
committees, Roy's actions and opinions were respected and obtained him
the election to the 4th Vice President position in 1985 and proceeding
through the chairs to become P.S.B.A. President in 1988. As President
of the PSBA he was instrumental in acquiring the Hall of Fame Board
presently being used. Roy continues to be a strong supporter of PSBA
activities and has bowled in 40 PSBA Championship tournaments, along
with 27 ABC Tournaments. |
