Elliottsburg, Pennsylvania
The Pennsylvania State Bowling
Association is honored to induct Burle Lewis into its Hall of Fame for
his outstanding contributions to our Association and the game of
bowling.
Burle is currently active on the
national, state and local level in our sport. He was elected as a
Director of the American Bowling Congress in 1983 and served in that
position until 1999. During his tenure, he served on various national
committees every year. On the local level, Burle has served the
Harrisburg District B.A. for many years, being President from 1976 to
1979. He also was treasurer and a director on the local level.
To those of you who bowl in the P.S.B.A.
Championship Tournament, Burle is no stranger. He served as the
Tournament Director for the P.S.B.A. from 1979 through the 2000
tournament. In that position, he was responsible for receiving,
scheduling and processing all entry applications. He meets with the
Host Association and prepares them for the task ahead. He would be on
site almost every weekend of the tournament and oversaw the entire
operation. In 1990, he was appointed to the position of Senior
Tournament Director, a position he still holds today. Burle is one of
the reasons the P.S.B.A. continues to be #1.
As a bowler, Burle has participated in
38 PSBA tournaments and 24 ABC tournaments. He has a high game of 299
and high series of 733. He entered the Harrisburg District B.A. Hall of
Fame in 1987 and is a life member of that association.
