Williamsport, Pennsylvania

Stan Chaya entered the Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Hall of Fame for his outstanding service to the P.S.B.A. and local Lycoming County B.A.

On the local level, Stan was elected a director in 1963 and served in that capacity till elected President in 1974. He is currently a Life member and a member of its Hall of Fame. He organized the Williamsport Moose in 1976, which was conducted annually until the mid 90's.

On the state level, after serving as a delegate for several years, he was elected PSBA Treasurer in 1981 and is now finishing his 12th year in that position. His management of the PSBA funds has been outstanding and he has set up many new systems of bookkeeping which has made auditing the books much more efficient. He was the prime mover to start a State mixed Tournament which became a reality last year. Stan was elected to serve as Mixed Tournament Director. Along with his wife Mary serving as On site director, this tournament is well on its way to becoming a huge success.

Although his handicap prevents him from competing on the lanes, Stan was a pretty good bowler while active, with a high game of 289, high series of 697 and a high average of 191 to his credit.
