Langhorne, Pennsylvania
Since Vince started bowling in a
church league in 1955 he has amassed quite a record. 1968 was the
banner year of his career for it was then that he acquired laurels at
the local, state, national and international levels. In addition to his
local association championships, he was a member of the FOOD FAIR TEAM
who won the Pennsylvania State Team Championships with a 3115 total; he
himself won the ABC All-Events Title at Cincinnati, rolling scores of
732-600-639 for 1971 this gave him the opportunity to represent the USA
in the FIQ World Championships. Not many bowlers have had such a
significant year to look back on.
Among his other accomplishments -in
1969-70 bowling in the All-Star League at Fairlanes he carried the
highest season's average in Lower Bucks history, a 216. This helped in
his attaining a composite 25-year-average of 201 in 30 leagues -in 1974
he set a record in the All-Events of the Lower Bucks Association with
654-641-687-1982 as a member of the Jules Tire Team which won the
tournament with a 3137 total. 1974 also saw Vince selected to the ABCBA
All-Star Team.
During his career Vince was City
Champion of the Philadelphia B.A. in singles, doubles, all-events and
5teams. On three occasions he has come home with the championship in
the Trenton (N.J.) Times Open Tournament
When not on the lanes Vince plies his
trade as a barber and does his bit in promoting bowling as a sport,
especially with the youngsters. He is always available to talk to the
juniors and to help them with their problems.
