BILL BEACH

Sharon, Pennsylvania

Bill Beach's bowling activities enhance Pennsylvania's reputation as the home of many of today's stars. His interest in the game began as a pin boy and has culminated in a brilliant career as a touring professional. He is a "pro" in the full sense of the word -as winner of the prestigious ABC Masters title in 1972 he beat the best professionals in the country. His many championships include the National Singles Title in 1978; National Doubles Title in 1965;National All-Events Championships in 1975 and 1978. He currently holds the highest average of all bowlers participating in 20 or more ABC National Tournaments at 203. His contributions to the game include activities relating to work with Junior bowlers and various bowler oriented charities.

Campbelltown, Pennsylvania

Affectionately known as "Diss" and the "Pennsylvania Dutchman," M. W. Dissinger's selection for the Hall of Fame was made prior to his untimely death in June.

His career as an outstanding administrator spanned 34 years of government service and over 20 years in the Pennsylvania State Bowling Association. He served as Director, Vice-President and finally 12 years of distinguished service as Secretary of the state organization. His leadership was recognized by the American Bowling Congress when in 1970 he was elected to the National Board of Directors where he served as an influential member of the High Score and Awards Committee.

A prolific writer, he was a member of the Bowling Writers Association of America. A gracious, kind hearted human being, he authored a news letter to service men and women during World War II keeping them apprized of happenings in their local area. This work is on display at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington. His contributions and memory will be long remembered.

Morrisville, Pennsylvania

Vincent Lucci's career spans the unusual range from immigrant to proprietor-from bocce to bowling. Long recognized as one of the best in the East, Lucci gained national attention when he rolled his first 300 game in the doubles event of the National ABC Tournament in 1951. In 1960 he captured the ABC All-Events title with 1985. He has participated in 37 ABC Tournaments averaging a very creditable 194. He has 7 sanctioned 300 games to his credit as well as a high series of 787. As an early member of the Professional Bowlers Association, he was captain of the New York Gladiators team of the National Bowling League. He has helped numerous people start bowling careers and his biggest thrill is in helping youngsters enjoy the game. He was inducted into the National Hall of Fame in 1978.
