Campbelltown, Pennsylvania
Affectionately known as "Diss" and the
"Pennsylvania Dutchman," M. W. Dissinger's selection for the Hall of
Fame was made prior to his untimely death in June.
His career as an outstanding
administrator spanned 34 years of government service and over 20 years
in the Pennsylvania State Bowling Association. He served as Director,
Vice-President and finally 12 years of distinguished service as
Secretary of the state organization. His leadership was recognized by
the American Bowling Congress when in 1970 he was elected to the
National Board of Directors where he served as an influential member of
the High Score and Awards Committee.
A prolific writer, he was a member of
the Bowling Writers Association of America. A gracious, kind hearted
human being, he authored a news letter to service men and women during
World War II keeping them apprized of happenings in their local area.
This work is on display at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington. His
contributions and memory will be long remembered.
